She woke with a smile
Knowing her new baby was near
She rose to feed her child
But then discovered her worst fear
Her baby lay lifeless
Never to breathe again
Though when she looked more closely
She saw this baby was no her kin
Where was her baby
Her beloved son
Then in came her roommate
With a live little one
“My child!” she screamed
“There in your arms! What evil you committed,
give back my dear son!”
She fought with the woman
But never she won
There was only one way
She could get back her son
So on she bickered
Until she reached the decider
The judge gave her an option
Split the child with a blade divider
Each woman would get half
But she cried out
“No! Give her the child! Spare him his life!”
Then the judge knew
Which mother told the lie
“Dear women, do not cry,
for now you may have your son”
And with that
The trial was done
